Things to do
Where we are
From our location we are very fortunate to be in reach of many wonderful beaches such as Saunton Sands, Croyde, Puttsborough and Woolacombe. Exmoor itself is a short drive away with so much to offer – beautiful walks, abundant nature and a designated International Dark Sky Reserve, the first in Europe. Marwood Hill Gardens are close by, as is RHS Rosemoor. There are a number of National Trust treasures to visit including Arlington Court and Knightshayes.
Barnstaple has a super venue for entertainment called the Queens Theatre.

Walking
The Yeo Dale Hotel is just 5 mins walk from the South West Coastal Path and Tarka Trail.
We are a very popular destination for many walkers. Once rested we are only a few minutes stroll into the centre of Barnstaple with a busy high street, independent shops, pubs and some lovely cafes for a well-earned cream tea!
You may want to travel “light”. If so, Luggage Transfers can help you out. We are very happy to supply you with a packed lunch for your adventures: just let us know. Some of our guests need to use the bus: the Travel Devon web site is very useful.

Golf
Saunton Sands, Portmore Golf Park and Royal North Devon Golf courses are within 15 minutes drive of the hotel. Burnham and Berrow is about 90 minutes drive away. These courses are the best in the South West and offer spectacular views of North Devon and its coastline.
The hotel has had many golf parties in the past with groups of all sizes. Why not use the whole hotel as a private venue? Return to us for a freshly prepared evening meal in our lovely dining room following a successful day on the course. Even more enjoyable if your group are the only guests in the house. The hotel really lends itself to this type of booking with many groups returning year after year.

Green Man Festival
Green Man Music Festival is in the tradition of the legendary charter granted by Edward III in 1344 for a market and fair in Pilton and today it continues to provide a great spectacle of fun, music, craft, festivities and feasting for people of all ages. It also serves as a valuable platform for local charities to raise awareness and funds. Usually held on the 3rd Saturday of July each year.

Barnstaple
Barnstaple is the main hub of North Devon: an old market town which is full of history and character.
The historic Barnstaple Pannier Market is open six days a week throughout most of the year, with a number of food and craft festivals. The market offers fresh produce, handmade arts and crafts, a fantastic range of antiques and collectables.
With a proud history and tradition, enjoy this famous old building and sample the friendly atmosphere generated by traders and shoppers alike.
